CLUB RIDES

SHORT GROUP

The short group is for those riders who enjoy social interaction, but also want too get out on the bike. The distances vary depending on the selected route and terrain, but are usually between 30 - 45 miles. The pace is usually governed by the slowest rider, but usually our average speeds are between 14.5 and 16 mph, which depends on the terrain.

MEDIUM GROUP

The medium group is for those riders who enjoy pushing themselves , but also want some social interaction too. The distances vary depending on the selected route and terrain, but are usually between 45 - 57 miles. The pace is usually governed by the slowest rider, but usually our average speeds are between 16.5 and 18 mph, which depends on the terrain.

LONG GROUP

The Long route group rides routes from 50 miles up to over 100 miles. Club rides are ridden at a decent pace and can sometimes get competitive. The Tuesday night training rides in particular make for a tough mid-week workout and we have riders representing clubs from around the region use it as part of their training regime.  Our riders race in a variety of disciplines ranging from cyclo-cross, road, criteriums, track, time trials, sportives and hill climbs.

CAFÉ RIDES

On the second sunday of each month, a café ride is held so that all members are able to join, fast or slow it is at the "Old Style Club Run Pace". It's a social affair with lots of chatter and banter. We stop at one cafe and ride on roads not normally covered on the usual Sunday rides. The café ride is upto 40 miles. The only additional thing you will need compated to a normal club ride is a small bike lock and some money for the café.

TUESDAY EVENING TRAINING RIDES

The Tuesday night training rides in particular make for a tough mid-week workout and we have riders representing clubs from around the region use it as part of their training regime.  Our riders race in a variety of disciplines ranging from cyclo-cross, road, criteriums, track, time trials, sportives and hill climbs. We always get good turnouts of riders whatever the weather and all enjoy pushing ourselves. We encourage riders with the same outlook to come and ride with us and take in some of the countrys most beautiful surroundings.

VELODROME TRAINING SESSIONS

This is a fantastic opportunity for club members to try a different form of cycling and follow in the tyre tracks of Clancy, Trott, Cavendish and Wiggins. Early booking is essential.

The sessions are for experienced track riders and are tailored accordingly, similarly to an SQT. They are coached by a fully qualified Level 2 track coach. Dates and Times are published via the club emails, or contact the treasurer for further details.
